Hotels, lodges, guesthouses and hospitality groups
Hotel phone systems for reception and reservations
Guest-facing numbers that queue, overflow and follow the night manager — without a property-management pitch.
A hotel phone system in South Africa is the reservations line on the website, the reception handset at check-in, the events desk that cannot share that queue, and the duty mobile that must still ring after night audit. NovaCloud Africa builds that on Vuleka Reach Cloud PBX: IVR, hunt groups, time-based routing and web or mobile clients for managers who move between properties. We add the managed IT and monitoring the back office already runs. We do not sell a property-management system, room inventory or booking-engine plugin.
How hospitality operations actually run
Lodges, guesthouses and hotel groups use the same voice platform — sized to the people who actually answer. WhatsApp can land in the same inbox as voice when you want one guest-comms queue.
Call recording is available only under a POPIA-aligned retention policy. Guest names and reservation files on ordinary office PCs need backup and cybersecurity; that is diligence on information you already hold, not a hotel PMS. Custom hosting remains enquire-only.
Why NovaCloud Africa
What hospitality teams ask us to fix
Reservations cannot share a single ringing handset
IVR, queues and overflow to a mobile or sister property keep booking calls in the brand — including after-hours routing you actually configure.
Night audit still needs a reachable number
Time-based routing and mobile clients let the duty manager take urgent guest calls without leaving a legacy PABX in the back office.
Guest data sits on ordinary office systems
Reservation spreadsheets, email and file shares need POPIA-aware cybersecurity and backup. That is diligence — not a hotel property-management product.
Guest and staff voice on Vuleka Reach
Cloud PBX covers the numbers guests already dial: reservations, reception, events and accounts. We port lines where carriers allow, set hunt groups for front office, and add web or mobile clients for managers who move between properties.
WhatsApp can land in the same inbox as voice when you want one guest-comms queue. We will not list in-room entertainment, door-lock integrations or stock control as NovaCloud products.
The IT a hotel already needs, honestly scoped
Managed IT and monitoring keep the office network, the Wi-Fi infrastructure you already own, and back-office PCs available. Backup and disaster recovery protect reservations and finance files. If you need a custom VPS for an internal tool, that hosting package is enquire-only — confirmed after scoping, not added to a cart on this page.
Rural lodge versus city hotel call patterns
A lodge on a microwave or LTE uplink needs QoS guidance and realistic voice sizing; we will not promise studio-grade calling on an untested link. A city hotel with fibre can run more concurrent reservations seats and an events overflow.
Both use the same Cloud PBX tenant. After-hours paths differ: a lodge often overflows to one duty mobile, while a hotel group may overflow to a sister property’s reception.

Hospitality IT and communications FAQs
Straight answers for decision-makers evaluating IT partners in South Africa.
What is a hotel phone system in South Africa?
A hotel phone system is Cloud PBX for the numbers guests already dial — reservations, reception, events and the duty manager after night audit. NovaCloud Africa delivers that on Vuleka Reach, plus managed IT for the back office. We do not sell property-management, room-inventory or booking-engine software.
Do you replace our hotel property-management system?
No. We provide Cloud PBX, managed IT, monitoring, cybersecurity and backup. We do not sell PMS, room inventory, channel-manager or booking-engine software.
Can guests still dial a local South African hotel number?
Yes. We provision or port geographic and non-geographic numbers so reservations and reception keep the numbers printed on your website and confirmations.
How do after-hours reservation calls work?
Time-based routing, voicemail-to-email and overflow to a duty mobile or a sister property are standard Cloud PBX features we configure with you.
Is this only for large hotel groups?
Independent lodges and small hotels use the same Vuleka Reach stack. We size extensions, queues and IT scope on enquiry — including multi-property groups across Africa.
